Yesterday morning as I ran to and fro getting ready for work, I was reminded of a verse.

Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

What brought this to mind? As I was gathering belongings and trying to make lunch, I glanced out the sliding glass doors. There sat my precious father, and knowing my father, I knew he was talking to his Father. I stopped for a moment watching him. The hummingbirds were fliting around his head. His dog was at his feet. He had this look of peace. I have to say folks, I was jealous.

One of my favorite poems is “Waiting” by John Burroughs. “I stay my haste, I make delays. For what avails this eager pace? I stand amid the eternal ways, and what is mine shall know my face.”

Life is precious. Life is fleeting. Yes, we have to live our daily lives. Yes those lives can be overwhelming. But we can’t forget that life is made of moments, and to a point, we choose those moments. Love your family. Laugh with your friends. Spend time doing things you love. Most of all, count your blessings. I know how easy it is to dwell on your woes, but there is always something to be thankful for.

Wishing you all love, grace and peace…
